As we have heard so many times over the last few months, another locally owned Maine business has closed its doors for good.  This time, it is a well-known, Southern Maine, entertainment complex that's been around since the early 2000s.  According to a post on their Facebook page, Scarborough's Maine Indoor Karting is closing its doors, permanently.

In the post, owners Rick and Lori explain that the economic downturn brought on by the COVID-19 crisis was just too much for the business to overcome.

To all our Maine Indoor Karting Race Fans,

What a ride it’s been! Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end...

Apparently, the business is now for sale.  You can get more information by email them at info@maineindoorkarting.com.

Around since 2003, the 42,000 square foot facility allows people of (nearly) all age to experience the thrill of auto racing.  Racers can crank through the track at as much as 40 miles per hour.  And, since it's indoor, you can race any time of the year.

The place is ideal for team building exercises, birthday parties, and bachelor / bachelorette parties.

And, for the younger kids, they offer power wheels parties.

Hopefully, when this is all over, someone will purchase the business and it will once again become the go-to destination for Northern New England race enthusiasts.
