According to a post on the Augusta Parks & Rec Facebook page, the City of Augusta's three public pools will remain closed for the remainder of the year.  Not surprisingly, the cause of the closure of the pools, located at McCall's Playground, Williams Playground, and Calumet Playground, were concerns over the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

In responses to comments on the post, the department also revealed that Bicentennial Park would remain closed.  And, that the city's playgrounds will also remain closed.  Once they have a time-frame on when they can be reopened, Augusta Parks And Rec will make an announcement on their Facebook page.

Hopefully, we'll see a big enough reduction in cases to allow for the reopening of the playgrounds.

With deep regret, due to the impact of COVID19 Augusta pools will remain **CLOSED** this summer. Stay safe and well 💛
