The Augusta Police Department is starting a new wanderers program, that will allow parents, spouses or guardians to provide information in advance, that may help to locate a person who leaves home and is unable to return.

According to a news release, the program will help "emergency responders find and communicate with people who are prone to wander because of mental and medical conditions."

Pre-registration is required and can be done at the Police Department on Union St. or at the department's website. The information you submit is secure and will only be used by emergency responders in case of an emergency situation.
