First of all, is it just me or have we not really seen a 'whopper' of a snowstorm in over a year? It feels like we're always saying things like 'when I was a kid our winters were so much better than they are now!'. 'Better' in the sense that we got a lot more snow than we do now. Every storm we seem to get is just a few messy inches that is barely ever even enough to take the sleds out in. And, if we do get any decent snowfall, it's always followed by warm temps and rain.

Anyway, it looks like it's another fairly low accumulation storm on the way for late tonight and tomorrow. Unless you live in Western Maine, then you have the chance to see up to a foot. According to News Center Maine's Mike Slifer, this is going to be a pretty messy storm system with varying types of precipitation, and Central Maine is right on the line for accumulation totals.

The storm moves in very late Monday night and carries on through most of Tuesday. There will be a snow/rain line close to the coast and inland towns will most likely see some mixing throughout the day and, depending on the temperatures aloft, it will either be sleet of freezing rain.

As far as the totals go, as we're fairly used to seeing, Central Maine is on the line between coastal and inland snow totals. Depending on where that line decides to form itself in real life, most of will see either 2-5 inches of snow, or a larger 5-8 inch amount. Honestly, even though I've grown to not like the snow, I'm hoping it's the higher amount so that our friends in Central Maine that enjoy winter activities can get out and have some fun!
