Chicago Woman Arrested 396 Times

A Chicago woman, Shemain Miles has been arrested 396 times on various charges. She used 83 different aliases during her nearly 400 arrests, which included 92 for theft, 59 for prostitution and 5 for robbery or attempted robbery. In 1988 alone, she was arrested 35 times and since her first arrest 35 years ago she has averaged 11 arrests per year.

After her most recent arrest, a judge has ordered for her to be sentenced to mental health and substance abuse treatment expressing a willingness to help Miles as long as she is willing to try too. She thanked the judge for the opportunity and apologized.

Her latest court appearance involved an attack on a city Alderman last summer. Miles plead guilty in exchange for the judge’s offer of help.
