Here’s How Mainers Can Experience the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens for Free
One of the most unique and breathtaking attractions on Maine’s coast are the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.
Located in Boothbay, the gardens feature hundreds of varieties of flowers and plants spread across over three hundred acres.
In reality, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens consist of a series of gardens. The Haney Hillside Garden features a mix of native plants and natural vegetation. The Bibby and Harold Alfond Children’s Garden covers two acres, and is themed after popular children’s books. The Great Lawn has a design based on nineteenth-century landscape gardens. The preceding are just a few of the nearly one-dozen attractions that make up the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.
In addition to the gardens, water features, and other attractions, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens features miles of walking trails.
One of the newest attractions at the gardens is the trolls. Danish artist Thomas Dambo designed the trolls. There are five trolls scattered throughout the gardens. All of the trolls are large, but some are truly massive. The biggest troll is 28 feet tall.
Maine Days at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
The well-known attraction has announced that they are bringing back Maine Days.
From Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2, Maine residents will be able to visit the gardens for free.
However, because there is limited space in the garden, you will need to sign up in advance. Just visit the gardens’ website to select a day and time to visit.
Also, you will need to present your Maine ID when you arrive at the gardens.
