The Cony High School football team had a season to remember by winning the Class B state championship. And now, Ben Lucas, the quarterback of The Cony Rams, is among three finalists for the 43rd James J. Fitzpatrick Trophy.The trophy is awarded to the state's top high school football senior and is voted on by head coaches and selected media.

Lucas, is joined by Nicco DeLorenzo of Kennebunk and Justin Zukowski of Portland as the three finalists.

Lucas helped lead Cony to its first state championship since 1932, completing 225 of 373 passes for 3,357 yards and 41 touchdowns. Lucas went 24-of-46 for 347 yards and 3 TD passes in the state championship win over Kennebunk.

DeLorenzo started at fullback and linebacker for Kennebunk and rushed for 1,398 yards and 21 touchdowns and was the team's leading tackler.

Zulowski was also a running back and linebacker for Portland, he rushed for more than 1,600 yards and 27 touchdowns and ranked second on his team in tackles.
