If you went through this past winter in Maine, you probably won't believe this, but this winter is the warmest winter on Earth ever recorded.

The only part of the Earth that was colder than normal was eastern North America, including the United States. The Northern Hemisphere saw its warmest winter on record. Western North America, Europe and Asia saw wide-spread above average temperatures.

NOAA says that record warmth was recorded in the western United States, parts of central Siberia and eastern Mongolia.

Overall, for the United States, this winter was the 19th warmest on record.

The Southern Hemisphere also had warmer-than-average temperatures.
