FBI Agents Spotted in Southern Maine – Here’s What We Know
Most people realize that the FBI has a field office in Boston.
As a result, agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations are often involved in the investigation of major crimes here in Maine. However, we rarely see a large number of agents walking the streets of our cities and towns.
That is one of the main reasons that so many people took note of an incident that happened in Portland on Tuesday morning.
According to an article on the WMTW website, people reported seeing a large number of police outside the Portland Expo at about 7 AM.
The article goes on to say that, at about 7:30 AM, police were still on the scene, parked in the driveway of a residence at 819 Congress Street. However, despite their presence, no roads were closed. According to the article, the building is a three-story apartment building that is about two blocks up the hill from the Expo.

Law enforcement, including the FBI, appeared to be focused on a unit on the left side of the building and were seen entering and exiting the building.
According to the article, a member of the Portland City Council told the news organization that the FBI was issuing a search warrant for firearms and drugs as part of the investigation.
