Shorter French fries are coming to Europe.

Because of a brutally hot, dry summer caused a potato shortage, Belgium, France and the United Kingdom could lose up to an inch of their French fries.

The potato crops were down 25% and the spuds were smaller so French fries will be smaller too but the price will be higher.

According to usatoday.com Belgium will be hit the hardest with their fries being about three inches shorter. Bernard Lefevre, president of Belgium’s chip stand owners association said ‘chips’ are part of their culture. It’s more than a product – it’s a symbol of Belgium.”
