Gas Prices Slightly Up This Week, And The Cheapest Places To Buy Gas In Central Maine
As we head into the summer season, gas prices continue to go up this week; both in Maine and nationally.
According to the price monitoring site Gas Buddy, the average price for a gallon of gas in Maine this week is $2.346 which is up over two cents from last weeks average price of $2.325.
Nationally, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.362 which is just slightly up from last weeks national average of $2.356.
We searched locally for the lowest gas prices in Central Maine.
In Augusta, the lowest places we could find for a gallon of gas were at the Irving Station at 25 Western Ave, which is selling gas at $2.28 a gallon, J & S Oil at 132 Mount Vernon Ave which is selling gas at $2.29 a gallon, and Kenoco at 363 Western Ave which is selling gas at $2.30 a gallon.
In Waterville, the cheapest places we could find to buy gas were much higher than in Augusta. Cumberland Farms on 76 College Ave reported gas at $2.42 a gallon, and The Shell Station on 500 KMD checked in at $2.43 a gallon.
In Fairfield, the cheapest place to buy gas that we could find was at the Irving Station on The Oakland Road was is selling gas at $2.28 a gallon.
