Gas prices in Maine are rising according to the latest survey at pressherald.com from GasBuddy of more than 1,200 gas station in the state.

The price has gone up 4.6 cents a gallon in the last week to a state average of $2.50. The national average went up 6.6 cents a gallon in the last week.

GasBuddy says oil prices hitting a new high, a major pipeline leak, and a robust demand for gasoline so late in the season contribute to the higher prices.

The current price of gas is 32 cents per gallon higher than the same time last year.
