Several jackets were found around Portland with notes attached pinned to them.  The note reads 'I am not lost!  Please take me if you need me!'  According to WCSH 6, the coats were placed on light poles by Gabby Kaper.

According to her Facebook page, Gabby Kaper posted 'Every single one of us can make a difference... I hope everyone tries this, it's inexpensive and can mean the world to someone.'

She said she got the jackets for $1.00 each at Goodwill and put them up in downtown Portland. As soon as she got back in her car, she wrote, she saw a person who wasn't wearing many layers take a jacket.

'People are homeless, people are cold,' she wrote. '$5 to make five people less freezing, $5 to make someone sleep a little better tonight, $5 may be very little to me but very important to another. I encourage everyone to give this a try this season.'

It's things like this that really bring the true spirit of Christmas and just confirms the fact that there is still a lot of good in a world that feels like there's so much negativity.  I can't wait to see how the communities will respond to this.  I have a feeling Gabby has started something that is going to go viral!

BRAVO GABBY!!
