It is crazy to see how far technology has come in the last few decades.

What we are able to affordably obtain these days would have been considered science fiction in the late 1990s.  Smartphones, artificial intelligence assistants, and massive high-definition TVs.

Of course, there are times when this technology can be scary.

It is now far easier than it has ever been to spy on people.  In addition to the fact that so many of us post our lives on social media, there are tiny tracking devices (AirTags), and wireless cameras that can be mounted nearly anywhere.

Not to mention that a smartphone is probably the greatest piece of spy technology in use today.

Recently, a Central Maine man was arrested for allegedly breaking an ex-lover's home and recording video of her.

According to an article on the KJ website, 35-year-old Jeffrey S. King, of Hallowell, has been accused of breaking into his ex's apartment, hiding in the playroom of their child, and recording her while she was with another man.

He then allegedly sent her the video that he had recorded.

The article explains that Augusta PD Detective Matthew Estes reviewed the evidence and it appeared that to have been shot by a device being held in someone's hand.

King allegedly also hid cameras and audio recording devices in the apartment.  He also allegedly assaulted a guest of the woman.

King was indicted by a Kennebec County grand jury on May 21st on charges of domestic violence stalking, burglary, two counts of criminal trespass, and three counts of violation of privacy.
