Here’s What You Can Donate To The 17th Annual ‘Tanks’giving Food Drive
We will be kicking off one of Central Maine's largest food drives next month. We will be in Randolph, Augusta, Waterville & Skowhegan collecting nonperishable food items. Whether you are donating 1 can or an entire case of food, here are some suggestions on what food pantries are looking for:
- Nonperishable proteins: Canned tuna, chicken, beans, peanut butter, almond butter
- Holiday related items: Box stuffing, gravy, canned pumpkin, cranberry sauce, canned veggies
- Baby food, formula, diapers, diaper wipes
- Snacks for kids: granola bars, crackers, juice boxes, fruit snacks, raisins
- Condiments and spices: Ketchup, mustard, salt & pepper
- Personal hygiene products: Toilet papers, tissues, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry detergent, hand sanitizer
What not to donate:
- Alcohol
- Boxed cake mixes & brownies - these items require milk, eggs, oil & butter that sometimes are hard to come by.
- Opened and expired items
