Holy Patchouli…What’s That Smell??

I realize different smells appeal to different people.  Some prefer fruity scents. I'm a cotton candy, coconut, pineapple or vanilla person.  Some are a floral fragrance kind of person.  For men, there's mountain river stream or arctic blast (honestly, whatever the heck a mountain river stream smells like, I'll never know).  But then, there is a category all of it's own: Patchouli.  

Why?  What is the obsession with this level of stink?  Oh c'mon...if you survey a hundred people, 99 are going to agree...patchouli is offensive!  It's about as awesome as mall bangs.
