Honestly, no one is more surprised by this than me. My father taught me the proper way to spend money since I was young but I have followed an interesting pattern with my monetary spending since I began living on my own. I am not claiming to be an expert on money but if I can help you I'm happy to. Here are the things I do every month.

-I count out how much money I'll spend on steady payments: Netflix, bills, etc. I subtract that from my monthly salary so I know how much I have left.

-Whatever I have left I break it down week to week so I have $50 left to put in my savings. That is my nest egg just in case. If I have more than $50 at the end of the month I put it in instead

-Every time I buy something with card I use my ONE credit card only. At the end of the month I pay it off completely.

-Make sure you pay your bills on time when they're due. More than just the minimum amount.

That's essentially what I do, planning, executing, and spending when I can. Never over indulging.
