A Portion of the I-95 Through Central Maine Will be Closed on Friday
If your daily commute generally takes you on the I-95 through Central Maine, you may need to allow extra time to get to your destination on Friday.
According to an article on the KJ website, a portion of I-95 southbound will be closed for much of the day on Friday.
The closed section of the road will be near mile marker 152 in Pittsfield. The closure, which will happen in order to allow for road work to safely be done, will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday.
Because of the lengthy amount of time that the road will be closed, there is a good chance that it could affect your morning or afternoon commute.
Drivers will be directed to exit the highway at Exit 157 in Newport, and then to Pittsfield via Route 100 and Somerset Avenue. You will be able to get back onto I-95 at Exit 150.

If you find this information overwhelming, don’t worry! The Maine Department of Transportation will have detour signs along the route to guide drivers on which roads and streets to take.
The northbound side of I-95 will not be affected.
This work is part of a project to replace the decks on several bridges that span I-95 over the Sebasticook River and Route 152.
