Details About the Fatal Police-Involved Shooting in Central Maine
According to an article on the WABI website, a Central Maine man is dead following an incident involving law enforcement that took place early Wednesday morning in the town of Hartland.
The article explains that the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home on Main Street on Wednesday morning. Deputies say they arrived at the house around 5:30 in the morning to conduct a search.
When deputies entered the home, they were met by the owner, Isaac Robinson.
According to officials, Robinson came toward them holding a knife. Deputies say they immediately ordered him to put the weapon down, but Robinson refused to comply.
At that point, the situation escalated quickly with deputies firing their weapons, striking Robinson, who did not survive. Authorities say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the deputies involved have now been placed on administrative leave. This is a routine part of the process following any officer-involved shooting while the investigation moves forward.
