When most of us were kids, getting active as a family meant going for a bike ride, playing catch, or going hunting.  These days, families have so many more options.  So many fun options.

Like MASSIVE obstacle courses, for example!

According to a Facebook event page, the Big Bounce Run will be returning to Hermond's MX & Offroad Park this September.

Basically, it is a huge inflatable obstacle course that is designed for both families (with kids 8 and older) and athletic adults who want a real challenge.  They offer a variety of courses that range from 1.5 miles (with 17 obstacles) and a whopping 9 miles (with 92 obstacles).

If you were a kid of the 90s or early 00s, this event is going to look a lot like those obstacle courses we used to see on Nickelodeon gameshows.

As far as the breakdown of different course options, the Facebook post says:

Our most popular distance is 3 miles, where you will tackle 32 gigantic obstacles in two laps around the course. Other distances are 1.5 miles (17 obstacles and one lap), 6 miles (62 obstacles and four laps) and 9 miles (92 obstacles and six laps)

While this is not a video of the Big Bounce Run, it does give you an idea of what the event would typically look like:

How cool!

The Central Maine running of the Big Bounce Run will be on Saturday, September 9th 2023 in Minot, Maine.  Get all the details about the event, and book your spot, on the Big Bounce Run website.
