10 Things Everyone Should Do at Least Once in Maine, From Moose Country to the Coast
There are some things in Maine you just have to experience at least once.
And no, that doesn’t mean you need to climb Katahdin or spend a week camping in the middle of nowhere. Some of the best Maine experiences are actually pretty simple.

You can spend an afternoon on the water in Portland, take a drive looking for moose, eat a lobster roll with an ocean view or finally make the trip to a place you’ve driven past a hundred times. Even if you’ve lived in Maine your entire life, there’s probably at least one classic Maine experience you still haven’t checked off the list.

That’s part of what makes living here so great. You don’t necessarily have to travel far or spend a ton of money to do something that feels like a mini vacation. Sometimes you just need a free Saturday, a full tank of gas and an idea of where you’re headed.
So whether you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, putting together a Maine bucket list or just want to see how many you’ve already done, here are 10 things everyone should experience at least once in Maine.
And yes, spotting a moose absolutely counts.
