Police ID Suspect in 10-Hour-Long Central Maine Standoff
According to an article on the WGME website, a more than 10-hour standoff in Whitefield ended peacefully Thursday night with a suspect taken into custody.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office says the standoff began around 9 AM Thursday when deputies went to a home on Head Tide Hill Road to serve an arrest warrant on 51-year-old Robert Willett, who was wanted on a terrorizing charge.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Willett ran into the home and refused to surrender. After deputies say he made threats, Maine State Police tactical and crisis negotiation teams were called to the scene.

The standoff ended peacefully around 8 PM, when Willett was taken into custody.
Willett was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and creating a police standoff. He was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail.
*NOTE - All suspects are considered innocent until being found guilty in a court of law
Deputies also applied for and were granted a Weapons Restriction Order, commonly known as a yellow flag order, which was formally served on Willett.
