Coffee lovers in Lincoln have a new reason to celebrate.

Aroma Joe’s has officially opened its newest Maine location at 80 W. Broadway, bringing the Scarborough-based coffee chain to Lincoln for the first time.

According to an AJ's press release, the new 980-square-foot drive-thru is serving up the full Aroma Joe’s lineup, including handcrafted coffee and espresso drinks, flavored beverages, AJ’s RUSH energy drinks and all-day food options like breakfast sandwiches, soft pretzels, cinnamon rolls and donuts.

The Lincoln location is owned and operated by Ty Brehaut and David “Deke” Gillies. Brehaut is a first-time franchisee, while Gillies already operates Aroma Joe’s locations in Gray and Raymond. The new shop is expected to employ about 20 local residents.

Brehaut said the pair has been longtime fans of the brand and is excited to bring both the coffee and Aroma Joe’s upbeat atmosphere to Lincoln.

Aroma Joe’s has built a strong following across Maine with its drive-thru model and face-to-face ordering, where employees take customer orders directly instead of through a speaker box.

The company was founded in Maine in 2000 and has grown well beyond its home state. Aroma Joe’s now has 138 locations across Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York and Florida.

For Lincoln, though, the big news is much simpler: the wait is over.

Aroma Joe’s is officially open, and yes, the AJ’s RUSH runs just got a whole lot easier.
