As people pile into Maine each and every summer, many of them are after one specific thing. The perfect lobster dish.

Such a thing may or may not even exist. Any lobster dish could be perfect depending on an individual's tastes.

But one thing is absolutely true. There are a lot of lobster dishes to choose from throughout Maine. From lobster rolls to lobster pies to lobster stews and beyond.

Which makes a trusted source like Food & Wine an important guide. When they tell you to try something, it just has to be good.

Food & Wine Declares Lobster Dish at Ladyfish in Portland, Maine, a Must

Food & Wine recently published 'The Best Things We Ate in July 2026'. For foodies across the globe, it's always a poignant article that focuses their attention on certain dishes and places.

Amongst the best things Food & Wine devoured in July was the limited-time menu item at Ladyfish called the Twin Lobster Mountain.

You could argue the Twin Lobster Mountain is an upscale version of Guy Fieri's trashcan nachos. The Twin Lobster Mountain is fried lobster (including shells), french fries and rice cakes covered in au poivre sauce.

It is meant for sharing and you are meant to be very full after eating it.

Ladyfish in Portland, Maine, is Only Open Until October 31

The Twin Lobster Mountain amongst many other dishes are available for a limited time. That's because the restaurant itself is on limited time.

Ladyfish is a summer pop-up located at 425 Fore Street that will close on October 31. As with any pop-up restaurant, 2026 could be a one and done for Ladyfish.
