If you’re a steak lover, get your fork ready for this one!

A new spot is opening in Kittery, Maine, and you guessed it, it includes meat.

Tongue N Cheek is bringing a true “from the butcher block to the dining table” approach with it. The restaurant is connected to Maine Meat, the Kittery butcher shop known for breaking down whole animals and sourcing meat from farms within roughly 100 miles of Kittery.

I’m always excited to discover a new place to eat, but put a perfectly cooked steak and a glass of red wine in front of me? Now you’re really speaking my language.

But one of the coolest details Tongue N Cheek shared is that the restaurant will incorporate 300-year-old pine boards from their previous shop into the new space.

How cool is that? Rather than leaving that history behind, they’re taking a literal piece of their journey with them into the future. There’s something really special about a new restaurant having those little pieces of its past built into its next chapter.

And I think that makes the whole concept even more fitting. From the butcher block to the dining table and now from the old shop to a brand-new restaurant... Tongue N Cheek is carrying its story forward.

One local wrote on their social media, "I've never been so excited for an opening in a city I don’t live in!"

The restaurant announced on their social media that they are officially open but will only be open for dinners temporarily. "In order to walk before we run, we will just be open for dinner to ensure we provide the quality you expect from us" Tongue N Cheek said.

"Going forward, our hours are: Wednesday through Saturday open 3pm - 9pm.
Sunday open from 3pm - 8pm."

So, Kittery foodies, consider this your sign to check out Tongue N Cheek. I’ll happily raise a glass of red to them!
