2019 Met Gala: Kacey Musgraves Channels Barbie [PICTURES]

Kacey Musgraves channeled a pop culture icon at the 2019 Met Gala. The country star showed up to the big event in head-to-toe hot pink, plus long blonde hair -- a look of which Barbie (if she were a real person) would be proud!

In addition to her blonde hair and long, hot pink leather jacket by Moschino, Musgraves accessorized with a fur stole, hot pink sunglasses and a hairdryer-shaped clutch. Her stylist, Eric Cloud, tells People that she wanted a "nostalgic, iconic, playful (literally)" look for Musgraves.

“Dripping in diamonds is very decadent," adds Cloud, "and going high-low with the accessories adds to the camp feel."

An annual fundraiser benefiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City, the Met Gala's theme changes from year to year. The theme in 2019 is "Camp: Notes on Fashion," and this year's event is being co-chaired by Vogue's Anna Wintour, Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, pop star Lady Gaga, tennis phenom Serena Williams and Harry Styles, Musgraves' own former tourmate.
