A Kansas man is behind bars after leading police on a high speed chase Tuesday night. Police were called around 9:46 p.m. for a complaint.

When they arrived they found an abandoned car and immediately started hearing calls about a combine that was driving erratically on the road near the town of Ellinwood, Kan. It turns out that the combine had been stolen and the driver wasn't planning to get caught anytime soon.

Police chased the tractor down rural roads and into the city over the next hour. During the chase, the combine reached speeds up to 15 miles per hour. He also hit numerous telephone poles, a police car that was being used as a block and a 2005 Chevy truck that was parked on the road.

The whole ride finally came to an end when police fired 18 rounds into the combine and disabled it.

According to KSN News, 37-year-old Kenneth M. Lamb Jr. was arrested and booked for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, felony theft, felony criminal damage to property, and reckless driving. No word yet on how the chase will effect the Kansas wheat harvest.
