I went to a caucus for my first time on Saturday and it was very interesting and busy! The doors opened at 7 a.m. for the Kennebec County GOP Caucus at the Chelsea Elementary School. I arrived around 7:35 a.m.

There were already about 150 people there. I went into the cafeteria and enjoyed a breakfast and then talked with some people, many who also said this was their first time at a caucus.

Officials were give us instructions and around 8:30 we were told to go to the gymnasium to get a ticket which we would need to get our ballot.

At 9:00 a.m. Governor LePage and Congressman Poliquin would speak to the group in the cafeteria. By then, there had to be well over 1,000 squeezed into the school and waiting in a very long line to get a tickets to get the ballot. So, I didn't fight the crowd to hear them speak.

After about 30 minutes in line to get my ticket, I went to the school library where the Augusta caucus was to be held. With the lines so long, the only people in there, were people waiting out the crowds before they voted.

Finally around 9:30 a.m., they formed a second line to get our ballots. I voted and left by 9:45 a.m. the line of people were outside still waiting to vote.

I did get to talk with a few people, but I really don't see the point of a caucus and would love to see a primary come to Maine.

If you went to a caucus today, tell us what you saw.

Democrats your fun comes tomorrow!

Donald Trump and Ted Cruz stickers, signs and t-shirts were very well represented and I did not see one sign, sticker or t-shirt for John Kasich or Marco Rubio.
