Kristi's Family Received A Random Act Of Kindness In Bridgeton

The 2021 Fryeburg Fair wrapped up on Sunday, ending Maine's first fair season in almost two years, and it was a year for the books. Not only was it a record-breaking proper season for most vendors and gate admissions, but it was also the year my kids took their first trip to Maine's biggest fair.

I grew up traveling Maine's fair circuit, and as I became a wife and mom, and over the years, my own little family also joined the family business. My daughter B started helping out a few years back, but this year and specifically this fair, was the first time my son Logan got to help out. And, it was a hit!

After a successful nine days at the Fryeburg Fair, we packed up the car and set out for home. We didn't make it far before realizing we needed food in our growling tummy's so we turned into the Bridgeton McDonalds for a bite to eat.

While enjoying our Lunch, a lady approached us and started the conversation with a gentle "You are raising one heck of a kid, and I'd like to treat you all to lunch" as she threw down a $20 bill. I instantly refused the kind gesture and was greeted with a very stern "NO."

We didn't know her and she surely didn't know us, and even though she didn't have to, she reminded us that we were doing something right as parents. Sometimes we as parents need validation of our hard work.

So, thank you to the kind lady that reminded us just how blessed we are to have such kind, caring, and hard-working kids!
