Have you been looking for the perfect pooch to add to your family? Have you considered transport dogs?

If not, this is a fabulous way to make a wonderful addition to your family and it also helps save the life of a dog who comes from out of state from the many kill shelters around the country. The Humane Society of the Waterville Area does an amazing job of bringing these dogs to Maine for a new life. It's a great program. It serves a great purpose and a great need as well.

According to their Facebook page they are in the process of bringing up some puppies right now!

We have three additional puppies joining our transport next Tuesday, September 29th. We don't have a lot of information...

If you would like to be considered for one of the pups, or any of the transport dogs they bring in. It all starts with an application. Fill out the Transport Dog Application. The program works by first getting you to foster the dog. They match dogs with transport fosters on a first come, first considered basis. They will check references and veterinary records, they will verify housing.

Should you decide to adopt after fostering they will cover several important things with the adoption fees including core vaccinations, some tests such as Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis, and Anaplasmosis, they will also provide treatment if needed. Microchipping, Spay/neuter surgery, and more.

It's truly a wonderful program for all involved. Visit or contact The Humane Society of the Waterville Area for more details.
