A woman is recovering after being attacked with a hatchet during an incident in Glenburn on Sunday evening.

According to an article on the WGME website, members of the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department arrived at a residence on Pushaw Road in Glenburn just after 6:30 PM on Sunday.

When they arrived on scene, they found a 59-year-old woman who had suffered serious injuries by being hit by a hatchet.

It was quickly determined that the suspect in the attack was 19-year-old Ethan Herbert of Glenburn.  He had reportedly fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, but was quickly apprehended.

He has been charged with with domestic violence aggravated assault, domestic violence elevated aggravated assault, and attempted murder.

While it does appear that the suspect and the victim are related, the specific nature of their relationship has not been released.
