According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety's Shannon Moss, a fire at a previously condemned building in Lewiston Tuesday night is now being investigated as arson.
The Lewiston Fire Department responded to 425 Main Street around 9 PM on Tuesday, September 8th after receiving a report of a structure fire.
The building is no stranger to firefighters. It was the scene of another fire on July 12th, which investigators determined was accidental. Following that fire, the building was condemned.
Because of the circumstances surrounding Tuesday night's fire, the Office of the State Fire Marshal was called in to assist with the investigation.
Investigators have now determined the September 8th fire was intentionally set and have classified it as arson.
No injuries were reported.

The investigation is continuing with the Lewiston Fire and Police Departments and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
Anyone who may have information about the fire, or who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area, is asked to contact the Lewiston Fire Department's Fire Prevention Division, the Lewiston Police Department, or the Office of the State Fire Marshal at 207-624-7076.
