According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control) we are not getting enough sleep. Maine residents came in 20th on the list for not getting the proper amount of sleep each night.

The CDC recommends 7 hours of nightly sleep but 67.1% on Mainers do not get that much each night. That is not too bad though considering the folks in South Dakota have the countries best rested population at 71.6% and Colorado is right behind them along with New Hampshire and Vermont.

Maine is well above some of the most sleep deprived states like Hawaii at 56.1%, Kentucky at 60.3% and Maryland at 61.1%. Alabama, Georgia Michigan, Indiana, South Carolina, New York and west Virginia are all below Maine when is comes to getting the recommended 7 hours of sleep.
