Maine Teen Found in a Ditch Following Hit-and-Run Crash
It is always a tragedy when someone is injured or killed in a traffic crash, but it is even more tragic when the victim is a child.
According to an article on the WCSH 6 website, a Wednesday afternoon hit-and-run crash left a 13-year-old girl unconscious in a ditch on Worster Road in Eliot, Maine.
Police arrived on the scene at about 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Upon arrival, they found an injured teenager in a ditch. A preliminary investigation led them to believe that the incident involved a hit-and-run.
A short time later, police located and arrested 82-year-old Leon Benton, of Eliot. Benton has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury.
Benton is expected to be in court on April 10th.
Our thoughts are with the young lady and her family as she recovers from her injuries.
