
A Blast of Arctic Air Will Bring Freezing Temps to Maine Next Week
So far, the winter of 2024/2025 has been pretty mild.
We've had above average temperatures and almost no snowfall. Yeah, we had a few inches just before Christmas, but that was about it.
It's definitely not shorts and a t-shirt weather, but most people can get by with jeans, a fleece, and sneakers.
It looks like that may be about to change.
After a mild Saturday that will feature temperatures in the mid-40s and rain, a Sunday blast of arctic air will cause temperatures to nosedive.
An Arctic Blast Hits Maine
According to Weather.com, the temperatures across Maine will drop throughout the day on Sunday. By Sunday evening, the temperatures will have dropped to the lower teens. Additionally, the wind will make it feel a lot colder and there is expected to be some snow.
The high temperature for Monday will be 19 degrees, but it will feel much colder with the windchill. The temperature for Monday is 5 degrees above zero, but with the wind, it will feel a lot colder.
The high temperature for Tuesday is only 15 degrees and Wednesday will not be much warmer.
The current forecast is calling for the temperatures to start rising again on Thursday.

By the end of the week, daytime temperatures should be back in the 30s.
Some parts of Maine, like Aroostook County, will likely see much colder temperatures during this cold snap.
