This just might be the riskiest remake/sequel in the history of ever. Everyone on the planet loves Julie Andrews and everything she does, having anyone take over the mantle of one of the most beloved features of all time, it is bound to be scrutinized under a magnifying glass. That being said, Emily Blunt taking over the role of Mary Poppins is something I actually approve of, she has the acting chops to nail this role and Lin Manuel Miranda is one of the biggest stars in the world right now. Throw in Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer as the adult versions of the kids from the original movie, you have a mix of an incredibly talented cast, and if the story is right, it just might be a fantastic follow-up.

Now the trailer is just what it should be, a teaser of the characters, not giving away any plot devices at all and just a quick glimpse of Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins. I'll admit, Emily Blunt certainly looks the part, and even though she doesn't talk much in the trailer you see a bit of Mary Poppins magic and a quick shot of Lin Manuel Miranda as Jack, who is Bert's apprentice from the first movie.

Now this is just a teaser, the full blown trailer should be released as we get closer to the Christmas Day release date, but right now i'm more interested in the movie than I thought I'd be.
