Photo Found Tucked in Book From Auburn Goodwill: Who is This?

I am trying to solve a mystery. Do you know who this kid is?

I have sometimes stuck a photo in a book as a bookmark. I wonder if that happened with this photo of the kid on Santa's lap.

Krystal found this picture tucked in the pages of a book she picked up at the Auburn Goodwill. Photos are so important to families, including Krystal's so she's been trying to find who the picture belongs to. It was tucked in the book, Sammy the Seal.

If the picture was tucked in this Syd Hoff classic, then we know it came from a house with small kids. I can only imagine that if this book was at the Auburn Goodwill, then the family might be in the Lewiston/Auburn area.

There was no writing of any kind on the picture, so no clue there. I've stared at the photo a lot looking for any clues about the time frame. The clothes don't scream any particular era. I don't think it's super old (like the 80s or older). But a friend guessed the 80s because of the 'bowl' haircut.  I also think this may be at someone's house and not a store setting. It has a homey feel to it. Maybe a church? It looks like Santa might also be someone close.

If you have any ideas, please share them or this post. Krystal just wants the family to have the photo back. It could be very sentimental and at the very least, a fun memory.
