I Traveled To The Future in a Robot Tanning Booth in Auburn

Yesterday I was running errands and I had to stop by Planet Fitness in Auburn to unfreeze my account with them. You see, I moved recently and I knew I wasn't going to be able to make it to the gym so they offer for you to put your account on a hold, without the monthly charge, until you're ready to come back.

I am now ready to come back and get my work-out on. Not just because I want to feel good about myself but also because my wonderful colleague, Merry St. Pierre, talked me into doing a 5k run with her in May. So, the treadmill started to call my name again.

While I was there, I thought that I could get a little sun-kissed tan to prep for summer. So I asked for a stand up booth for 9 minutes. If you don't go tanning or don't believe in it, don't worry, I am not trying to convince you to do it. It's a personal decision of mine.

I was told by the Planet Fitness employee that they had updated all of their tanning beds and booths and are making some awesome upgrades and changes to their equipment at the Auburn location. I was happy to try out a newer booth. So I grabbed my winkies, walked into room #3 and never looked back.

I have no idea why I didn't ask them to explain how to use this booth because the moment I walked in, I saw what I was up against, a robot.

I am a 90s kids so even though I did grow up in the age of ever-growing technology and innovation, I still have a hard time now and then with the buttons and stuff. So when their are too many buttons on something, I'm out.

However, I really wanted to get this pale skin to perk up a bit, so I continued. I disrobed and opened the doors to what looked like an intergalactic spaceship, and put my feet on the feet.

This groundbreaking machine was not on yet so I looked at the system and noticed a big red power button, of course I pushed it.

Once I did that, the light that burst onto my face was immediately raging hot and boys and girls, you know when you step into a good tanning booth you know you're going to get a great result and baby, this was good.

I immediately traveled to an island and I am not talking about "Fyre Festival", what a mess. I felt like I was transcended to the future laying in Bali with robot butlers handing me drinks with little umbrellas.

The tanning booth is called Ergoline Hybrid Light Technology and according to them,

 As I was in the booth, I started pressing more buttons and a robot lady voice came on a spoke to me to tell me that the volume was up and the music was on. The robot lady also helps guide to do different tanning experiences. The article says,

The best part, it had a timer on when you'd be finished.

This tanning booth was so good that you have to remember to remove all of your jewelry, because if you don't, you will get a skin tattoo. I forgot to remove my necklace with my gold medallions and now they are on my chest. Two little circles. See below.
