UPDATE: Lewiston Standoff Ends Peacefully, No One Was Taken into Custody

WGME 13 is now reporting that a standoff that began Wednesday night on Lewiston's Boston Avenue has ended peacefully.
Officials responded to the scene of a man who was in emotional distress and was allegedly armed. The standoff is over and no one was taken into custody, WGME reports.

According to WGME 13, police have been on the scene of an armed standoff in Lewiston since Wednesday night.
Officials report that the man they are dealing with in the standoff has been going through some emotional difficulties.
The news station reported that police officers attempted to speak with the man in question Wednesday evening at about 6:00. However while they were attempting to make contact with him he turned and ran back into his house on Boston Avenue.
By 7:30 Wednesday evening, WGME reported that parts of Lewiston's Boston Avenue had been closed off by police officers. Additionally, some other connecting streets in the area were also shut down as a precaution.
WGME also reported that authorities had called in a 'health crisis worker' and a negotiator.
