Certain liquor bottles, including "nips," are getting a price hike. According to WGME 13, The Maine State Liquor Commission passed the proposed changes to liquor pricing formula by a vote of 3 to 2 on Tuesday. The director for the Maine State Liquor Commission says 853 products will be affected. The 50ml bottle has been at the center of controversy this year. Governor LePage even threatened to ban the sale of them. The price hike will see bottles which now retail for .99  cost $1.50.  "Lower shelf" bottles will also see an increase of 20-50%.
