Prisoner Being Treated at Maine Medical Center Attempts to Escape Through The Ceiling
If you're going to attempt to escape custody, which we certainly don't recommend or advise, it might make sense to not give it a try while you're confined in Maine's largest hospital... especially through the ceiling. Besides, even if you successfully made it into the ceiling, where would you go?
According to WGME 13, a Maine inmate that was being treated at Maine Medical Center in Portland attempted to escape during his stay on Tuesday.
WGME reports that the inmate, 25-year-old Lucas Raine, was at Maine Medical Center being treated for unspecified reasons when he attempted to escape through the ceiling tiles in the bathroom while the hospital was preparing his discharge.
However, his attempt was unsuccessful. He had restraints on while he was attempting his escape and corrections officers were able to step in and get him back into custody.
Lucas Raine is currently being help for charges that are drug-related out of South Portland, WGME reports.
