The states of Washington and Colorado have legalized marijuana and now there is a push for Maine to follow suit. The group Marijuana Policy Project is leading a campaign for ballot initiatives, to legalize recreational use of marijuana for people 21 and older, in South Portland, Lewiston and York.

Last year the group helped lead a ballot initiative in Portland.

Monday, the South Portland City Council voted 5-0 approving a non-binding resolution to reject the move to legalize recreational marijuana use.

It's expected that in 2016, voters in Maine and many New England states will be voting on this issue.

What are your thoughts? It's our 'Question Of The Day': Do you think Maine should legalize recreational marijuana use?
