Two College Bowl game play the day before Christmas, the Popeye’s Bahamas Bowl and the Hawaii Bowl. One was much more exciting and close than the other, here’s the wrap up.

Popeye’s Bahamas Bowl was one of the best games of the bowl season so far. Western Kentucky won over Central Michigan in double overtime 49-48. Central Michigan could have forced a triple overtime but decided to go for the win with a two point conversion in the 2nd OT, but failed. Quarterbacks for both teams were hot for the game combining for 979 yards passing and 12 touchdowns. Central Michigan trailed in the game 49-14 but scored 34 unanswered points but came up one point short.

The Hawaii Bowl pitted Rice (8-5) against a (6-8) Fresno State team. Fresno State played two quarterbacks in the game that combined for a total of 93 yards passing on 28 attempts. Rice QB Driphus Jackson threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 41 yards. Rice had no trouble beating Fresno State 30-6.
