Red Sox Fans: Which Pitcher Should They Sign?
Jon Lester is going to sign a 6 year deal worth $155 million dollars with the Chicago Cubs. So, Red Sox fans, with option one off the table, which pitcher would you like to see the Red Sox sign? Here are some choices.
James Sheilds. He's 32 years old and had a 2014 record of 14-8 with a 3.21 ERA
Cole Hamels. He's 30 years old and had a 2014 record of 9-9 with a 2.46 ERA
Johnny Cueto. He's 28 years old and had a 2014 record of 20-9 with a 2.25 ERA
Max Scherzer. He's 30 years old and had a 2014 record of 18-5 with a 3.15 ERA
Shields and Scherzer would make the most sense because he is a free agent and the Red Sox won't have to trade any players to sign him.
Hamels and Cueto are probably better pitchers but to get them would involve having to trade for them.
