Rodeo Movies to Watch to Get Ready For Boots n Bulls
The Boots n Bulls Rodeo and Concert featuring Confederate Railroad will be at the Windsor Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 23.
If you are as excited about this event as I am or want to get in the rodeo mood, here are some rodeo movies you can check out before the Boots n Bulls Rodeo.
Pure Country: Starring George Strait as a super star in country music who is not happy with the way his concerts are being presented. One day he walks out but is under contract to do one more show. This movie has some great rodeo in it too like team roping, barrel racing and more.
8 Seconds: Probably one of the most popular rodeo movies starring Luke Perry and Stephen Baldwin. It's the tragic story of real life bull riding icon Lane Frost and his equal in bull riding Tuff Hedeman. This movie has a good story line, strong acting and some great rodeo scenes.
Junior Bonner: Made in 1972 with Steve McQueen as a washed up rodeo cowboy returning home for a 4th of July rodeo, only to find things have changed to a more progressive and modern world.
My Heros Have Always Been Cowboys: Staring Scott Glenn and Kate Capshaw about a rodeo rider that quits the circuit after a serious injury. When visited his family he finds his father is not well and he’ll have to risk it one more time.
The Electric Horseman: This was great movie starring Robert Redford, Jane Fonda and Valerie Perrine. No rodeo scenes in this to speak of but is about Sonny Steele a retired rodeo star advertising breakfast cereal. He finds out the horse he is riding has been on drugs so he rides off into the desert to release him into the wild.
The Boots n Bulls Rodeo and Concert ticket available as a combo (rodeo & concert) or individual for just the concert (Joe Diffie)
