According to an article in the Kennebec Journal, multiple police vehicles sustained damage and a pedestrian was struck during a chase through Skowhegan earlier today.

Skowhegan Police Chief, David Bucknam, told the Kennebec Journal that the operator of the car was arrested and taken to the Somerset County Jail following the chase. Bucknam said that several police vehicles, including multiple Somerset County cruisers, were struck during the incident. Additionally, a pedestrian was struck, but fortunately not seriously injured.

The KJ reported that a bystander in the business district of Skowhegan said that he heard several sirens in the area followed by a pickup truck being chased by police. That bystander, Jim Sylvester, said that the pickup truck circled the downtown area several times with police in pursuit behind the truck.

The bystander told reporters about the driver of the pickup truck, “He had a cigarette in his mouth and looked calm, cool, and collected.”
