It's the week of Valentine's and, of course, men are scrambling to find a card or a box of chocolate's, even diamonds, to give to their sweetheart. Women, well, we are ready with a homemade romantic dinner with candles we only bring out once a year. Maybe we'll slip into something more comfortable a little later on.

Growing up, my Dad always got my Mom a card with a monkey on it. A small box Whitman's Sampler chocolates accompanied it.

Mom would always have a card for my Dad, too. They never forgot this holiday.

They still haven't.

I'd like to share with you my parents from a few years ago. They have been married over 50 years. Was every day a perfect day? No...but they found a way to make love appear in their marriage.

I still remember them dancing around the living room while Dad sang her some Perry Como song. Today, they mostly stay home and have small dinners every night together that Mom still makes. The hugs and kisses between them come more often now.

May your Valentine's Day be filled with love. 50 years or more, if you're lucky enough!
