You see it all the time, people walking and texting. Not paying attention to where they are going bad things can happen. Walk into traffic, walk into a pole or slam into someone else. China is trying solve the problem.

They have created sidewalk lanes labeled ‘cell phones’ where people can ‘walk at their own risk’ and text. It’s for pedestrians who are addicted to their cell phones and just have to text while they are walking. One lane is labeled ‘cell phones’ and another ‘no cell phones’. By choosing which lane you want to walk in, they are hoping to minimize injuries.

Other parts of the world are addressing the problem too. In London, the have put padding around lamp posts in the Brick Lane section which they say is now their first 'safe text' street. England has 6.5 million street injuries due to texting and walking.
