This is a huge honor for two boys in Parsonsfield who have been helping Mainers for most of their young lives.

The award is called 'The Carnegie Hero Award for Extrodinary Heroism'. This prestigious award only goes out to 18 people nationwide, and only FOUR police officers.

The National Science Foundation’s long-running Visualization Challenge, more often referred to as The 'Vizzies',  honors illustrations of scientific principles and advancements so as to make them accessible to larger audiences.

Nancie Atwell, a teacher from Edgecomb, Maine, won the $1 million Global Teacher Prize. Atwell won against teachers nominated from all over the world.

Turner Elementary school received a national honor yesterday. The school was honored as a blue ribbon school.

Now that 2013 is coming to close a lot of lists are coming out for various things. A list for lies of the year are also making the rounds and most, if not all, can agree on the biggest lie of the year. Not surprisingly it’s a political lie.

At this point in her career, Taylor Swift has been nominated for so many awards that we should stop being surprised at the number of nods she racks up for each awards show. Naturally, the 2012 European MTV Awards are no different. Swift is up for a whopping five trophies.
