One of Maine's most famous residents is back home this summer!

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame inducted 13 new members during the annual awards ceremony on Sunday.

It may surprise you to know some of the famous people that where born in Maine and went on to great success as an author, actor and even a racecar driver.

The 2013 Dempsey Challenge presented by Amgen is coming up on October 12th and 13th at Simard-Payne Memorial Park in Lewiston. The event, founded by actor, Maine native and avid cyclist Patrick Dempsey, is an annual fundraising event for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

There was a moment of silence yesterday at Edward Little High School in Auburn as they paid tribute to former Assistant Principal Rob Bennett. Bennett had died earlier in the day after battling brain cancer.

The annual Dempsey Challenge is coming up in Lewiston/Auburn on October 13th and 14th at Simard-Payne Park in Lewiston. The benefit event for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at C.M.M.C. was founded by Lewiston native, actor Patrick Dempsey.
